Bring on the Preschooler’s

Yesterday was the final rehearsal for Mouse Tails, we had the chance to do two preview shows to prep us for an audience, one with staff and the other with some kids around the library. It was great having the audience there for the audience participation sections of the show. The van has been loaded and we begin our tour Monday. Fun, Fun, Fun.

In other theatre related news, the family and I had a chance to take in some shows this week. First was Street Beat on Wednesday. It was an awesome show. They brought in a variety of percussion beats and lots of dancing. It was lively and energetic. The boys were WOWed and attempted all the moves they saw shortly after it ended. It was also shown in the new Knight Theatre which I think is a beautiful venue.

On Thursday we made our way to Children’s Theatre and saw Beauty and the Beast. This show was wonderfully done. Fantastic set, lights, costumes, and cast. I was so happy to be reminded of the story of Belle and the ultimate lesson the show provides. Terrific family show.

The next week will be filled with the tour, an audition and planning for the future. Just for fun, here is a picture from the red carpet of the Metrolina Theatre Awards in September. If you know me you know I LOVE dressing up and so the combo of dress up and Theatre folk, made one heck of a great evening.

Here is what I currently have on my plate...

Tarradiddle Players
Resident Touring Company of Children's Theatre of Charlotte

Tarradiddle Players is happy to be celebrating the company's 38th season! The Players' founder, the late Constance Welsh, started the Tarradiddle Players to bring the joy and wonder of the stage to audiences who might otherwise never see live theatre, but even she might be surprised to see how much her dream has grown. The Tarradiddle Players have now performed for over one million children, in schools, community centers -- towns big and small -- across the Southeast, bringing smiles (and maybe a tear or two) to the faces of everyone they meet...We now offer a special Early Childhood tour for Preschool audiences... from ctcharlotte.org

I am very happy to be apart of the Preschool tour of Mouse Tails. This will be my second preschool tour as a Tarradiddle Player; I was apart of the spring tour of Animal Tales. I am so excited to be returning! I LOVE the preschool audiences and I do enjoy bringing some entertainment to places that don't usually have the opportunity to venture out and seek it. We begin rehearsals next week and start the tour the week after. It's very fast paced, but it's so much fun, you don't notice it.

Hello!
Welcome everyone to my new blog. This 2009-2010 season looks like it will be a busy one for not just being apart of but also viewing lots and lots of theatre, and that makes me one excited girl. So excited, that I want to share the adventure with you.

I have been a lover of the performing arts from a very young age and have discovered that it isn't just something I enjoy doing, it's something inside of me that need to be fed. I love it and I hope that through this blog you can see that.
